The article is devoted to the study of educational software tools and their functions, revealing some theoretical aspects of the use of software in the teaching process of biology, and lists a number of platforms and applications that can be used within the lessons. Also, the influence of educational programs on stimulating the activity of students in biology lessons is taken into account, with the modern educational approach being applied illustrations, applications of virtual reality visualization, which will help develop critical thinking, imagination and memory in students.
