This article is devoted to the analysis of the correlation between truth and normativity, "objective truth" and "normative legal truth". The need to distinguish the logical-gnoseological and axiological aspects in the research of legal phenomena is emphasized. The authors demonstrate that legal norms, although they contain objective truths, due to their prescriptive character, do not possess the so-called "truth value", i.e. they cannot be considered true or false, but fair or unfair, effective or ineffective, valid or invalid , etc.
