dc.description.abstract | In a context where we daily observe the extreme vulnerability of our way of life so far and glimpse the future only through the lens of fear mixed with hope, we need more acutely than ever to encourage the permanence and infinity of the books, to reanimate the human, in a collateral effort of intellectual and spiritual survival. Literature has the power to bring into the clarity of language the confused architecture of our inner experiences, to relate personal histories to traditions of thought, to discover meaning in the labyrinth of the present, to help us survive, ultimately, in a context of isolation sad, over which lies boredom and anguish, fear and anxiety. Even if in what is written today, we find, in essence, recurring literary themes, they breathe a new semantics. Basically, the literature of the "state of emergency" is about what the philosophy of joy and hope entails today; about how the near is redefined in relation to the far; about anxiety as a condition of the spirit or a cultural one, about the transformation of the energy of fear into a positive content, about the test of resistance over time, in the end because people are human to the end, to the extent that they are solidary and cultural. Or, first of all, cultural. | en |
