Abstract

The international protection of the rights of the child, as an institution of international law, is guided by the branching principles of international human rights law, as well as by specific principles that exclusively regulate the legal position of the child. One of these is the principle of non-discrimination or equality of children. Discrimination is a serious persistent violation of human rights, affecting every aspect of life, and if it is not prevented or if the necessary measures are not taken to combat discrimination, it will lead to the exclusion, marginalization and dehumanization of those affected. In this article, the authors conduct a research on some ways to ensure compliance with the principle of nondiscrimination of children in the legislation and practice of the Republic of Moldova, with elucidation of gaps and problems in the field.
