Monetary policy is one of the economic policy’s instruments, which serves like a method of influencing the demand and money supply. The impact of monetary policy implementation through its instruments has a direct influence on the banking system and on the development of the economy. Banks represent an integral part of the economy, whose activities are closely linked to the society’s needs. They have always created the foundation of market relations, due to which the state's economy functions. The National Bank of the Republic of Moldova, as the Central Bank with important functions in regulating banking activity, imposes certain rules of restriction or expansion through monetary policy. The banking system of the Republic of Moldova is experiencing a continuous development and a good management of the rates, liquidities and emerging risks needs to be researched, analyzed, with the aim of establishing incentive norms for commercial banks.
