Aspects of these two defining interdependent elements were reviewed in this study. The research focused on the analysis of interdependencies between staff competitiveness and innovation and the way these concepts influence the sustainable development of the country. An empirical research of the characteristics of each of these two processes has been carried out. In order to demonstrate the interdependence between these processes, the characteristic and defining aspects of staff competitiveness and innovation were explained. Research methodology focused on the use of the following methods: documentary research, analysis, synthesis, quantitative analysis, abduction, induction, comparison. After the following investigations we have concluded that competitiveness facilitate the penetration of the country to the path of sustainable development.
