The general principle of hierarchy capitalized at the level of the branches of the legal system of the Republic of Moldova is tackled in the article. The construction of the legislation system is a hierarchical one, based on the legal force of normative acts. In turn, each branch of law is expressed in a hierarchical system of formal sources. There is a constant presence of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova in the hierarchy of branch sources of law. Also, international human rights law, to which the Republic of Moldova is a party, is positioned immediately after the Constitution. However, the place of European Union law, at branch level, is not identified, in contrast to the legislation of the Republic of Mol-dova as a whole.
