Abstract

During the last financial crisis, loss of liquidity of large financial institutions created premises for failing to honor the payment of the obligations, which caused their bankruptcy, thus demonstrating that the profit and capital is not a reliable measure of protection against the risk liquidity. To highlight the methodological aspects of the study we aim to characterize the many facets of the concept of "liquidity" of particular interest to this complex organization and proper management of liquidity risk.
