dc.description.abstract	The present article aims at taking into discussion the ethical dimension of the memoir, proving that the ethical dangers of this genre come from the fact that it is deep-rooted in the real world and consequently makes certain kinds of truth claims. Thus, the authors of memoirs assume two kinds of obligations: to the historical or biographical evidence and to the people they portray and, consequently, should not admit any falsifications in order to avoid serious consequences.	en
