The article discusses the problem of the management of the primary school teachers’ training for the education of children with a delay in mental development in the system of continuous education. It is studied the topicality of the problem. It is given the characteristic of children with a delay in mental development, and the peculiarities of pedagogical leadership are shown. There are considered the forms and the methods of the work in formation of professional competence of teachers at the courses of advanced training.
