Today's dynamic life puts forward challenges especially in the value o f the educational area. Current educational challenges require the formation o f an active personality with a high level of responsibility and social responsiveness, potentially opened to change. The school has a duty to get the child ready to fulfill his role, the active role in shaping the future society. It is essential that children should be aware of the importance o f respect for their peers, for human dignity. This can he achieved only through educating individuals as a whole, which possess self-respect and own identity. In multicultural world, human relationships for a peaceful living can be regulated by the Human Rights Education. Human rights constitute an axiological and pragmatic minimum, a set o f values, norms, principles which guide the common life o f individuals in society. The given article explains the role of children’s rights’ knowledge in the context o f the educational process organization. It highlights methodological suggestions for proper implementation o f human rights education in preschool and elementary school period.
