The given article is dedicated to the potentialities of using one of the most modern instructional technologies in teaching foreign languages — video-podcasts. The work gives a definition of the term „podcast” defines the use, didactic properties, the main didactic-methodical features of video-podcasts in teaching a foreign language at the university. This paper discusses that using of video-podcasts in teaching German allows solving a number of methodological tasks among which the main goal is communicative competence development.
