In this article it is presented the characteristic of woman's education in the fist half of the XIX-th century in Besarabia. Special attention is given to species of needlework, which had been studying in woman's boarding schools, local institutions and lancastrian schools. The author describes in details needlework which includes sewing, knitting, braiding, embroidery and other similar works. Pupils of woman's educational institutions were taught all species of these works.
