dc.description.abstract Introduction of the integrated course of studying Russian language and literature in 8-9 grades in schools of Moldova suggests new forms and methods of work with the literary text. As an example, the article describes the work with a poetic text – Sergei Yesenin's poem "Letter to Mother" (a literary-themed unit „My dear man"). The article presents aspects of working with literary texts, determined by the method of poetic text analysis, aiming at forming students‘ speech competence. The recommended analysis of the poem uses a logic scheme, allowing to see the poem in the unity of form and content. en_US
