This article aims to point out some of the difficulties of translating user manuals. Translation is a functional bridge between languages. Translation studies are given particular attention within the era we are living in. These studies are relevant for various fields of human activity and the translation of user guides gets a special importance in this context. User manuals are conceived as guides aimed at the connection between the producer and the user of a technical product. A clear and comprehensible translation of a user manual should take into account not only linguistic but also scientific and terminological norms.en
