Carmen Silva et Vasile Alecsandri à travers la revue „L‟Astrado” [Articol]

Abstract

The history of the press is also an auxiliary science to modern history. We can discover the movements of the public spirit and reconstruct the stages of the development of literature through the newspapers and magazines of the time, through their themes, their style and their impartiality. Undoubtedly, the relationships established between Romania and Provence have been more numerous than we suspect today, and very warm. Two Romanian personalities in particular influenced the spirit of Provence. Firstly, it was Vasile Alecsandri, as he was partially considered the living symbol of the Romanian Renaissance and also the great voice of Latinity. The second personality was Queen Elisabeth, known under her pen name as Carmen Silva. L'Astrado, the bilingual magazine from Pro-vence, allows any cultivated mind to become familiar with the big names and the great works of Pro-vençal and world literature. L‟histoire de la presse est aussi une science auxiliaire de l‟histoire moderne. A travers les journaux et les revues de l‟époque, à travers leur thématique, leur style, leur impartialité, on peut découvrir les mouvements de l‟esprit public, on peut reconstruire les étapes du développement de la littérature. Les rapports qui se sont établis entre La Roumanie et la Provence ont été sans doute plus nombreux qu‟on le soupçonne aujourd‟hui, et très chaleureux. Deux personnalités roumaines surtout ont exercé leur attirance sur les esprits provençaux. D‟abord Vasile Alecsandri, parce qu‟il était un peu le symbole vivant de la renaissance roumaine et aussi la grande voix de la Latinité. Et en deuxième place c‟était la Reine Elisabeth, de son nom de plume Carmen Silva. L‟Astrado, cette revue bilingue de Provence, permet à tout esprit cultivé de se familiariser avec les grands noms et les grandes uvres de la littérature provençale et mondiale.
