Abstract

The article examines the problem of syntactic constructions with incomplete implementation of the structural scheme in different aspects: formal, semantic and communicative. These constructions are examined both from the point of view of content and of expression. A classification of the types of syntactically incomplete sentences is given, and the reasons for the appearance of constructions with unsubstituted syntactic position are identified. The textual material for the study was selected from artistic discourses, dated the 20th century – the beginning of the 21st century. The main research methods used are: the transformation method, the method of isofunctional transformations, and the linguistic mo-delling method. As a result, the paper proposes a classification of incomplete sentences.
