Abstract: Currently insufficiently known and recognized, Margareta Curtescu is a remarkable voice in the poetry of the recent decades. Building her individuality on the overcrowded terrain of confessional poetry, Margareta Curtescu chose to express herself in the rhythm of an intimate journal, the authentic experience of the heroine being actively purged from everything that could disturb the course of the world and her harmonious quests. Resulting from a chamber sensitivity that examines with astonishment its reactions to the aggressions and transformations of the world, Margareta Curtescu”s poetry embodies a diction of sovereign self-mastery, even when the echoes of the dramatic tend to be heard everywhere. I foresee here a programmatic stance against the overly noisy poetry of internal ”tearings”, which most of her peers practice.
