Asigurarea şi garantarea dreptului la integritatea fizică şi psihică în Republica Moldova [Articol]

Abstract

Tortura, tratamentele inumane sau degradante constituie acte incompatibile principiilor democratice într-un stat de drept. Actualmente, majoritatea statelor contemporane continuă să se confrunte cu fenomene sociale nocive, cum ar fi tortura, tratamente inumane sau degradante, care afectează cele mai vulnerabile pături ale populaţiei. Republica Moldova, în această ordine de idei, a ratificat Convenţia ONU Împotriva Torturii la 28 decembrie 1995, iar în anul 1998 s-a raliat statelor membre ale Consiliului Europei în combaterea acestor acte, prin ratificarea Convenţiei europene pentru prevenirea torturii şi a pedepselor sau tratamentelor inumane sau degradante. Torture, inhuman or degrading treatments constitute incompatible acts with the democratic principles in a state governed by the rule of law. Nowadays, most of contemporary states continue to deal with harmful social phenomena such as torture, inhuman or degrading treatment. The Republic of Moldova, in this context, has ratified the UN Convention against Torture on 28 December 1995, and in 1998 has joined as a Member State of the European Convention in preventing such illegal acts through ratification of the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatments or Punishment.
