Abstract: The polysemy of the symbols "house", "path", "light" in the novel "Oblomov" by Ivan Gončarov is discussed in the article. The attention is focused on how these symbols help to reveal the images of the main characters in the novel: Ilʹja Oblomov, Andrej Štolʹc, Olga Ilʺinskaja, Agafia Pšenicyna.
