Abstract: The field of study of the research is the relationship between the level of self-control and the predisposition to adopt delinquent behavior by adolescents. This study highlights the complexity of delinquent behavior, which presents the product of the fusion of external factors (unfavorable social environment, hostile family experience, etc.) and internal (predisposing personality traits, motivation accompanied by situational or persistent nonadaptive tendencies) that unbalance the individual-society relationship. The research demonstrates the importance of the level of self-control in the genesis of delinquent behavioral acts among adolescents. Adolescents with a low level of self-control have a higher risk of engaging in delinquency.
