Abstract: The ecological consciousness represents primarily ethical-moral and aesthetic value, defi ning man as an expression of his attitude towards his intimate (self) world and towards the universe external to himself – the environment. Another aspect of the research highlighted some peculiarities of the subjective attitude of high school students and teachers towards animals. Man's subjective attitude towards nature is a psychologically complex sphere of human interaction with the world, where his personality position, opinions and attitudes are determined by the level of development of environmental awareness and the level of education. This article also presents data on the correlation of the subjective attitude of students with their age and gender compared to the data of teachers surveyed.
