Abstract: This paper represents a theoretical analysis of the possibilities to achieve organizational performance in terms of resizing the management system of the enterprise. In the context of the changing environment, by virtue of the major changes that affect the activity of small and medium-sized enterprises on a daily basis, they must withstand the competitive struggle and develop their own competitive advantages that will allow them to become victorious in the great competitive struggle. Thus, in the context of the new pressures brought by the COVID-19 pandemic that changed the influencing factors, creating major problems and challenges for the small and medium enterprises sector. The crisis has upset the entire management system, dramatically affecting the market performance of small and medium-sized enterprises. Thus, this category of enterprises had to quickly identify success factors in achieving and increasing economic performance in order to maintain the market but also to overcome the obstacles brought by the pandemic. The research methodology focused on the use of several research methods such as: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abduction, graphical, comparative method, statistical method. In the conclusions we can mention that small and medium enterprises are the most active actors of the national economy, but also the most vulnerable to possible crises that appear on the market. Thus, it is necessary to implement successful managerial methods and techniques that will ensure a good performance in the market in order to achieve economic performance.
