| Abstract: | The article deals with the problem of defining the concepts of the speech act, speech activity, and speech. Their distinctive features noted in the Russian and foreign linguistics have been identified. The reasons of the debatable character of a number of provisions regarding the mentioned concepts are being analyzed, and the research prospects are outlined. |
