Particularităţi şi dificultăţi în activitatea instituţiei ombudsmanului copilului din Republica Moldova [Articol]

Abstract

The Child Ombudsman can act as a spokesperson for children and an unconditional political defender of their rights at all levels of society. In fact, only through such an institution, with a well-individualized mandate, characterized by independence of expression and decision and proving its integrity, aspects that should not be disputed by anyone, it becomes possible to generally recognize the status and special importance of to make children happy in any society. It is salutary that since 2008 in the Republic of Moldova at the initiative of the Center for Human Rights and UNICEF Moldova was established the institution of Children's Advocate - an independent statutory institution established to protect and promote the rights and interests of children. In this context, the authors intend in this scientific article to analyze the particularities of the activity of the institution of the Child Ombudsman and in particular, to elucidate the gaps in the activity of this institution in the Republic of Moldova and to develop concrete recommendations in order to remedy these gaps.
