Abstract: Societas Europaea is a company established under European Union law. It has its own legal framework and can operate as a single entity throughout the European Union. In 2001, the EU adopted, after some 30 years of negotiations, the regulation on the Statute for a European Company and the associated directive on employee participation in European Companies. The European Company has a number of characteristics that make this business structure stand out. In this article we examine the conditions for the registration of the European Company and the particularities of its functioning.
