| Abstract: | The impact of Soviet totalitarianism on the demographic processes in the Moldovan SSR: The establishment of Soviet power in Bessarabia negatively influenced the demographic processes in this region. Deportations, organized hunger and repression have reduced the number of the native population and increased the number of ethnic minority groups. The imposition of the common communist ideology with denationalization and anti-confessional policies had long-term effects on the Bessarabian population. |
