| Abstract: | The given article is devoted to the problem of studying tautology in Russian and foreign linguistics. The role and functions of this linguistic phenomenon in linguistics are analyzed, as well as the question of how to define the boundary between non-observance of codified language and the pragmatic aspect, which emphasizes the intentionality of semantic redundancy, which allows «to do things with words». |
