Abstract

Information competence is understood by the author as the ability of a person to comprehend the realities of the information society and to use all the opportunities offered to them, the ability to fully adapt and self-realize in the information society. The more informationally competent a person is, the more necessary and demanded it is in the information society. Information competence can be acquired and improved; a necessary condition for this is appropriate education. Without using all the educational opportunities provided by modern information and communication technologies, it is impossible to prepare a specialist whose qualifications would correspond to the rapidly changing realities of life.
