| Abstract: | The present article examines the various aspects of the artistic perception of the phenomenon of «Holy Foolishess» / «Yurodstvo» in Lyudmila Ulitskaya’s play «Seven Saints from the Village of Bryukho». The particularities of the folk understanding of «yurodstvo», on which the author is based, differentiating «the Blessed» from «Holy Fools», are also taken into consideration. The specific features of the play’s image system and its ideological and thematic peculiarity are analyzed from culturological point of view. |
