Abstract: This article presents the results of the research in the field of psychological and social assistance of parents who have children with special educational needs. The research purpose is to analyze the effectiveness of support groups as a form of working with parents of children with special educational needs. We analyzed the activity of several specialists of the different social, educative and psychological services, beneficiaries of which are children with SEN. We found that professionals working mostly with children with SEN and less with their parents. And support groups for parents are applied only in the center "PULS" and “SOCIUM”. Specialists who use support groups believe that this is an effective method of working. Other specialists do not apply this method and considered inefficient for various reasons. Much of these specialists were not trained about the functioning of support groups. Therefore we developed a program of work with support groups for parents with children with SEN.
