Abstract: Intercultural competence is a way of ensuring that the methods used to reach a pre-determined set of goals are effective and operate within good practice guidelines. Scheitza has assembled various "ingredients" of intercultural competence from various sources. These are categorized under the personal attributes of attitude, knowledge, communication, self-confidence and social relationships. These components of individual intercultural competence can be developed at the English lessons. People with diverse cultural background need it to deal with one another in our everyday life.
