Abstract: The aim of this article is the theoretical study of reading strategies of the foreign text for the development of the ability of the trainees to have a deeper understanding of the textual content and obtaining necessary information from it. The article examines different tasks and exercises which stimulate such development. In conclusion, the article demonstrates the functioning of the studied reading strategies on the examples of the didactic text.
