Abstract: The present article speaks about an interactive, colorful, captivating method in teaching reading- a method that was invented by Edward de Bono, a British scientist and psychologist. His method consists of 6 levels, 6 hats: blue, white, red, green, yellow, black. The method “Six Thinking Hats” allows the students to structure the information received from the text, to generalize their knowledge on a topic. It is a very effective way for evaluating students’ reading comprehension and for stimulating their motivation for reading. At every level the teacher or the student may use certain phrases or word combinations that will help them in the text discussion.
